Waste Water Heat Recovery (WWHR) Units

This useful energy-saving device uses a wrap-around heat exchanger to recover heat from waste water pipes (from baths, showers, washing up, etc), and transfer this heat into water input to a boiler or air input to a furnace.

What to look for

You will need to inspect your waste water pipe(s)--or have a qualified plumber do so--to determine the length of pipe available, and the diameter of pipe. (There is normally no benefit in surrounding more than a 60inch length of pipe with WWHR tube.)

Criteria

  1. WWHR units must be available in Saskatchewan

  2. Testing reports should be provided by the supplier or manufacturer.
