Many retail outlets sell programmable thermostats - you will need to check availability with hardware stores in your area.

What to look for

• How many different programming periods?—weekday/weekend, weekday/Saturday/Sunday, or 7 days each treated differently?

• How many different temperature settings per day? (The listed models give a minimum of 4, i.e., wake, day, evening, sleep)

• The thermostat should also be shipped from the factory with pre-programmed settings.

• Are you confident to set and use the model of programmable thermostat which you are considering buying?—savings will depend on the settings you enter into it.
