What to look for

Hand cleaning products, where intended to achieve greater cleaning power than household soap, should meet the requirements set out in Green Seal Standard GS-41. Soaps, shower products, etc for domestic use only may be included if they comply with the more recently established Green Seal Standard GS-44

Hand cleaning products, where intended to achieve greater cleaning power than household soap, should meet the requirements set out in Green Seal Standard GS-41

The main requirements set out in this standard are as follows:

non-irritant
non-toxic to aquatic life when diluted
easily biodegraded in water
no phosphates, NTA, EDTA, APEOs, halogenated organic solvents or butoxyethanol
minimal volatile organic compounds
packaged in recyclable packaging
