Energy efficient appliances
This category includes home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, driers, etc); electronic equipment (computers, TVs, DVDs, etc); and office equipment (computers, photocopiers, water coolers, etc)
We do not list these separately here in this edition of the guide, because the task is adequately done by others. However, future editions may include these items.
We recommend that consumers check the criteria for EnergyStar qualification - see the following websites:
- http://www.futureshop.ca/learnmore/BuyersGuide/en/energystar.asp?logon=&...
EnergyStar qualifying products should carry an EnerGuide tag indicating the energy consumption levels: consumers are advised, all other things being equal, to opt for the lowest energy consumption product available (rather than one which merely meets EnergyStar criteria.)
