Hand cleaning products, where intended to achieve greater cleaning power than household soap, should meet the requirements set out in Green Seal Standard GS-41

The main requirements set out in this standard are as follows:

• non-irritant
• non-toxic to aquatic life when diluted
• easily biodegraded in water
• no phosphates, NTA, EDTA, APEOs, halogenated organic solvents or butoxyethanol
• minimal volatile organic compounds
• packaged in recyclable packaging
