Making choices
There's a growing awareness in Saskatchewan of the environmental impacts of what we buy. People want to choose well, but it's hard to get information about what's available, or where to purchase.
The Green Directory is designed to provide that information. This first phase of the project is for people who are renovating their homes.
Criteria
Here are some of the points we consider when determining if a product is "green".
- local: production, materials, labour
- conservative use of resources
- no ozone-depleting substances
- environmentally ethical
- energy efficient
